Built around the calm, heavenly lagoon of Calodyne, in the north of Mauritius, the new luxury resort of the group has been created to a whole new dimension of hospitality, combining luxurious living and contemporary freshness with the flora and fauna of the Mauritian panorama.

The main feature of the site has to be preserved and built upon. The first unique characteristic of this site is the extensive water bodies forming the ‘barachois’ which covers most of the site from north to south.

This offers a strong opportunity to create an architectural concept where the water bodies are totally integrated into the architecture. The fact that the width of the land along the east, west and south boundaries are too narrow to allow any kind of set back of buildings from the water line, the buildings are built partly on land and partly on the water using ‘stilt’ construction which does not disturb the flow of water.

This type of construction will give the architecture of the hotel a strong identity which will certainly differentiate the hotel from the rest of the ‘conventional’ beach hotels found on the island.

However using this kind of concept and due to the relative narrowness of the site, great care is taken to minimise the impact of ‘building’ on the natural environment. Therefore most buildings especially on the front part of the site where the main natural features are located, are built ‘ground floor only’.

The buildings are designed with extensive use of natural materials such as stone, timber, thatch etc… to reflect a ‘tropical architecture’ typical of Mauritius. The landscaping forms an integral part of the buildings to allow maximum integration to the site. ‘Mangroves’ are to be introduced between the buildings to reinforce the natural character of the ‘landscaping’.

In that way, a strong ‘sense of place’ is to be achieved giving this hotel a unique character in harmony with its natural site conditions.

Bright, airy, and well-appointed, our luxury rooms overlook a private sea front, and embody the best of indoor and outdoor living. All rooms will be equipped with an open plan, marbled bathroom, luxury bathroom amenities, mini bar, tea & fresh coffee facilities, 42” wall-mounted plasmas with interactive television system, complimentary unlimited high-speed internet, and private outdoor deck or terrace area.

Our speciality restaurant, in continuity with its usual elegance for lunch and dinner, presents Mediterranean fine dining with a kiss of the local Creole flavours. The restaurant overlooks the vast Indian Ocean and offers a plush interior as well as an open terrace for a relaxed outdoor dining experience.

The Afro-Asian Style Spa features 8 single massage rooms and 2 couples massage rooms, each with it’s own steam shower and private garden. Set within volcanic rock and tributaries of the ocean this abode of over 4000m2 proposes its own private garden where specialised health food and drinks will be served.

The Spa will offer a selection of treatments from around the world including Indian Head Massage, Balinese Massage, Reflexology, Reiki, Royal Thai Massage, Hot Stone Therapy and Traditional Asian Facial, with each treatment perfected to suit your personal needs.

Guests of resort have complimentary use of the additional Spa Facilities during their stay. This includes the use of the fully equipped gymnasium and the relaxation area, which holds two saunas, two steams, power body shower, cold plunge pool and Jacuzzi. The Mind and Body Studio will offer yoga and meditation classes throughout your stay.

Construction on the project is expected to start later this year and be completed by Autumn 2011.
